Diablo 2.3 release date

The software itself I presume says 1996 (in the credits (?)). I was certain I had seen 1996 mentioned on Wikipedia before. I still think from the GameSpot cue and other reviews and dates that maybe some people were able to get it before that (under the table). Decemmakes the most logical sense, especially for a big industry player like Blizzard. And so, January 3 falls on a Friday, and January 6 falls on a Monday. Oh, so, Decemfell on a Tuesday! Boom!! This is the typical release day for a new videogame (and for a long time, any new music album too). David Brevik said it was 'available' by December 31, he didn't say it 'launched' on December 31, so is it possible that there is actually no specific date but just that some shops received it at various dates in late December 1996? Or, wait a minute.

Now, some other sources speak of a demo version sent to magazines by late November 1996.

(Actually back in 1996 Gamespot said 12/96 as release date.). ģ.) GameSpot still mentions Novem(look at the top: ) as the release date (Wiki should mention this: GameSpot is more relevant than CNET). )ġ.) The original Cd-Rom mentions the date 1996 on it.Ģ.) It was not only reviewed by some magazines in late 1996, but GameSpot named it the best videogame of 1996. This is an interesting topic because it concerns, well, videogame history.
